Welcome to the Staromódní dívadlo website. 

I started this small theatre company (Old-Fashioned Theatre) with the aim of presenting good plays - both classic and modern - in a way that respects their authors, our actors, and you, our audience.

I am not in any way against imaginative new interpretations of well-known works, as long as they help bring a play to life and make it easier to understand or more relevant to our lives today. Unfortunately, many modern productions do the opposite, leaving audiences confused and disappointed.

I aim to be 'old-fashioned' by going back to the basics of drama: good stories, clearly and intelligently presented, that appeal to both the head and the heart. I believe that is what you, our audience, want.
